She asked if Jessie made greeting cards of her art. Rather than saying no, Jessie said “I will.”

Jessie learned to make multiple images of her paintings at a local Kinkos. She would then cut them, paste them on card stock, and handwrite the title and sign her name. Jessie hung her cards from her white umbrella as she painted at Gramercy Park and by the end of the day she they were all sold. This happened again and again.

One day Jessie left several sample greeting cards with the manager of the Union Square Barnes & Noble. Several weeks later he called and said he would start with 100. Within two weeks he was calling because the first order had sold out. In the years since, Jessie Krause Impressions has grown to dozens of stores including most of the Barnes and Nobles in Manhattan. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
